Let her cut in line? A moral dilemma….?
I have to ask your opinon on this one. I’ll give you a true scenario. Please let me know what you would have done in this situation:
You approach the customer service line at a “box”/wholesale store. There is a rope that is stretched in front of the counter, placed a few feet back with a sign on one end that says, “Member Service Line”. There is a woman at the front of the line, a couple behind her and you stand behind the couople. There is an older lady in a wheelchair/cart combo sitting at the other end of the rope.
An associate calls the first woman and shortly thereafter, another associate calls the couple. You move to the front of the line near the sign. Almost instantaneously, the older lady realizes she is at the wrong end of the rope; she comes over to you as you wait for your turn and asks if she can go ahead of you, citing that “I was in line, but I was down there.”
Do you let her go ahead of you? Why or why not?

Oh don’t get me started on older folks cutting in line.
They say have respect for your elders but they don’t show us younger people any at all. In fact I was just at the grocery store, standing with an item in my hand at a checkout lane and calling my husband over who had the cart, when all of a sudden this older (maybe around 60 or so) woman just runs into me, pushes me out of the way and then her husband does it too! How rude is that???
Not the same situation as yours. It’s hard to tell if the woman was really waiting or just trying to do her stuff quicker.
Sad though, when we have to question peoples intentions.
